Most cars in the world are made in Tokyo, Japan. However, South Korea has also made its mark in the car industry with great designs and models. Great marketing skills and low prices are what have steered South Korea high up in the rank of best car models. The question however is whether the cars are worthwhile.

South Koreans gained experience by assembling car parts from Japan and the United States. In 1955, a Korean businessman remade an American army jeep and created a Sibal. Between 1955 and 1962 there were other modifications. In 1962 the government established a five year plan for the automobile industry and also created the automobile industry protection act. In 1964, the Mazda model was unveiled in South Korea. Hyundai and Toyota followed later and they had great market value.

The Hyundai motor company has a wide range of Hyundai vehicles. There are passenger Hyundai vehicles, commercial vehicles and SUVs and vans. In the passenger cars category, South Korea has several models. The Hyundai Genesis, Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Stellar, Lavita, Genesis coupe and Pony.

South Korean Hyundai SUVs include the Entourage, Trajet, Grace, Veracruz, Porter and Galloper. Hyundai commercial vehicles from South Korea include the Hyundai 1 and II, Hyundai chorus, Hyundai RB, Hyundai Aero, Aero town and Aero city, Hyundai FB and Hyundai e-Mighty.

The KIA motor company deals with Kia cars. These are SUVs and Vans, commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles. KIA passenger cars include Avella, Brisa, Pride, Potentia, Opirus and Visto. Besta, Retona, Sorento, Sportage and Sedona are common SUV models from KIA motor company.

Other motor vehicle companies in South Korea other than Hyundai are GM Korea, Samsung motors, Asia motors, Saehan mptor, CT&T United, Ssang Yong motor company and Tata Daewoo commercial vehicles.

South Korean vehicles are very popular because they are long-lasting. People who have bought these cars as second hands say that they functions just like a brand new car. One of the customers said that he bought a KIA Amanti which had gone for 27000 miles but it functionality does not betray the mileage it has covered.
